Our Compassion Team, led by Veronica Garvie, focuses on serving those in need. This team is involved in local homeless missions, but it is also very important when it comes to meeting needs in our church family. When a new mother welcomes her baby into the world, the compassion team organizes volunteers to provide dinners for the family for the first few days the baby is home. (If you love babies, dropping dinner by is a great way to catch a glimpse of them!) We also organize food for luncheons when a memorial service is hosted at our church. It means a great deal to families who are grieving the loss of a loved one when we reach out to them. If you would like to be involved, see Veronica. She will add you to her list of contacts, and you will be notified when these needs arise.
Our greeters and ushers are also part of the Compassion Team because they are the first faces we see on Sunday mornings. If you’re a people-person, be sure to sign up as a greeter or usher. All you need is a friendly smile and a good handshake! Additionally, be prepared to arrive to church early. See Veronica to get on the schedule!
