For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)
Proclaiming the Gospel
We are saved by grace through Jesus Christ. It is faith in Christ that brings us to salvation. We proclaim the Gospel by living out this faith, but we know we aren't perfect. As Paul wrote to the Philippians, "No dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT). We proclaim the Gospel as we practice it.
Accepting People
We accept everyone. Will there be Biblical truths that challenge us at times? Yes. If that's ever you, just know that you're not alone. We're in this together. Remember, we're all practicing the Gospel!
Connecting Together
Spend time with people in a worship encounter, Riverlife group, church dinner, or any other activity, and you will find that we're all just people. Riverlife is full of people with all different backgrounds who have one thing in common -- that we are connected by God's love for us. He wants us to connect because we have the opportunity to learn from one another and offer our friendship and support on this journey following Jesus. The Word says it this way, "Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near." Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT).
Empowered by the Spirit
Spirituality is vital to our faith, but that is something we see less and less in modern churches. We’re a spirit-filled church. That means allowing the Holy Spirit to move in our lives, give us clean hearts, and empower us to follow Jesus every day.
